Gulf Coast Oil Spill not effecting Vacationers to Florida’s Destin Timeshare Resorts

Just over a year ago the Deepwater Horizon oil spill devastated Gulf Coast tourism. Now you would be hard-pressed to find a tar ball along the clean white sand beaches of Northwest Florida.  The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Florida’s Gulf Coast and listed under Buy Florida Timeshare, is known as the Emerald Coast because of the emerald water blending harmoniously with startling blue skies and incredibly white sand that is as soft as cooking flower.  Sandestin’s plethora of family-friendly activities for vacationing entertainment makes it one of the most popular resorts along the Gulf Coast, and even during the aftermath of the spill, vacationers went to the resort because of the local attractions and breathtaking beauty of the sands and water.

With the effects of the oil spill now just a memory, Sandestin is celebrating Spring and Summer of 2011 with a wide range of events to welcome back Gulf Coast guests, including Easter brunch and the 25th annual Sandestin Wine Festival.

The resort has about 1,400 one- to five-bedroom villas, town homes and hotel accommodations, some with full kitchens and laundry facilities. There are four championship golf courses, 15 world-class tennis courts, 19 swimming pools, a marina, fitness center, spa, 19 restaurants, and the Village of Baytowne Wharf, a pedestrian village with about 30 shops and boutiques.  For teens, there is live music and activities at Finz Pool Deck. Other teen-friendly activities include an arcade, a zip-line and ropes course, sailing classes, miniature golf and a popular inflatable water park in the bay that was installed in 2010 in response to the oil spill.  Buy Florida Timeshare renters and owners can expect an oil free beach along the Emerald Coast, with the exception of lots and lots of sun tan oil.

As part of the time share resale and rental industry’s move to online resales, web based auctions and inventory listings, the state of Florida’s Travel Planning board has created the Florida Vacation Auction. The Web site partners with Visit Florida, the State of Florida’s Official Source for Travel Planning, and the auction site is a member of the Florida Lodging Association as well as the Florida Attractions Association.  As active members of the Florida travel and time share community, consumers can bid with confidence and trust on auction lots which include golf, spa, attractions, hotels and top resorts.  Auctions close at 10 p.m. EST each Sunday. Winning bidders save an average of 50 percent and as much as 80 percent off of regular prices. For the time share rental market this tool increases awareness of Florida time shares, resorts and vacation hotel hot spots.

How it works…

Bidders must register their credit card (the number is purged once the auction lot closes) and the registration is simple and free.  Bids are placed in $5 increments.  If you are outbid, an email alert with a link back to that auction gives you the opportunity to place another bid.  Auction winners receive an email with a link to a travel voucher (Adobe PDF format) worth the value of their bid, including all applicable taxes; there are no other charges or fees.
